Tsukihime- A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, the remake of Tsukihime doujin visual novel game by Type-Moon reached 300,000 sales via physical shipments and digital sales, according to an announcement by Aniplex. The visual novel had an anime adaptation in 2003, titled Lunar Legend Tsukihime. The visual novel remake was launched in Japan for Playstation 4 and Switch on August 26, 2021, and had a completely different cast from the original:
As usual in every Type-Moon visual novel, Kinoko Nasu is in charge of writing the scenario and directing the whole remake with Takashi Takeuchi as the character designer of the remake. ReoNa performed the game’s theme song titled “Seimeisen” published by Sacra Music along with other songs in the game like “Juvenile,” “Lost,” and “Believer. Studio Ufotable handled the animation of the opening trailer of the game. Although studio J.C. Staff animated the Lunar Legend Tsukihime anime, ufotable later took over for most of TYPE-MOON titles, including the so-called Nasuverse titles such as Garden of Sinners.
Tsukihime also received a manga adaptation by Shounen Sasaki. The manga was released in December 2003 serialized by ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh and ended in September 2010. There are a total of ten volumes consisting of seventy-three chapters. It was acclaimed by Type-Moon for connecting all the different plotlines of the story.
