Monogatari Anime Reveals Nadeko Sengoku Character Trailer

Nadeko Sengoku is the latest character to get a trailer as we count down to the Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season anime premiere next month. Previously, Hitagi Senjougahara, Kyoya Araragi and Suruga Kanbaru got their own trailers. Nadeko is voiced by Kana Hanazawa, and you can see some of her famous scenes in the trailer below.

Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season will premiere on July 6 with an extended episode. Studio SHAFT is once again animating with Akiyuki Shinbo as the chief director and Midori Yoshizawa as director. Shinbo is also in charge of the series composition with Fuyashi Tou, with Akio Watanabe returning as the character designer. YOASOBI is performing one of the theme songs, titled “Undead.”

Off-Season is a collection of side stories focusing on different characters. It consists of four arcs: OrokamonogatariWazamonogatariNademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari. Overall, it is the fourth saga in the novel series. Meanwhile, Monster Season tells the story of Koyomi Araragi’s university life in six arcs:

  • Shinobumonogatari
  • Yoimonogatari
  • Amarimonogatari 
  • Ougimonogatari
  • Shinomonogatari (two novels)

Monogatari is a light novel series written by Nisi Oisin and illustrated by Vofan. The series was first serialized in 2006. Bakemonogatari is a manga adaptation of the light novel, illustrated by Oh! Great. It has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2018. The previous TV anime adaptation has 3 seasons. Season 1 aired between July 2009 and December 2012 for a total of 30 episodes, season 2 aired between July and December 2013 for a total of 28 episodes, and the “final season” aired for a total of 42 episodes between December 2014 and June 2019.

A prequel anime film trilogy, Kizumonogatari, was released in 2016 and 2017. The movies were compiled into one and screened in Japanese theaters in January as Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp.
